Basin gets bedded on 4 inches of clean gravel, backfilled with more gravel around the sides to allow water flow into the basin from the surrounding soil, and the drain tile tie-ins go through pre-cut gaskets in the basin sidewall.
Day three is pump install and electrical. Primary pump is a Zoeller M53 submersible cast-iron pedestal in the basin with a tethered float switch set for a two-inch on/off delta. Battery backup is a Wayne WSS30V or a Zoeller Aquanot 508 mounted above the flood plane inside the crawl, wired to a sealed lead-acid cabinet on a shelf platform (not on the crawl floor — a submerged battery is a dead battery). Electrical for the primary pump and battery backup charger goes on a dedicated 20-amp circuit permitted through Cabarrus County. Day four is backfill, gravel top-out over the drain tile, and reinstall of the 20-mil vapor barrier over the trenched area with sealed penetrations around the basin and the discharge line.
