If air samples come back with elevated Stachybotrys, Chaetomium, or Aspergillus counts, or if the visible growth is on wood that probes soft, we bring in an industrial hygienist for pre-remediation testing and a scope of work that meets the IICRC S520 standard for professional mold remediation. That scope typically involves containment barriers, negative-air scrubbers, PPE requirements, wood replacement rather than cleaning, and post-remediation clearance testing before the space can be reopened.
